With Volta Charging, the electric vehicle "refueling" network, going public on Friday, CEO Scott Mercer joined Cheddar to discuss the SPAC merger IPO, and the future of EV charging on the cusp of the White House's major infrastructure plan. "We are really looking at a massive transition in the infrastructure for mobility, for transportation, and for energy, as we move towards electricity as fuel for transportation," he said. "So, it's very, very good to have the government's focus and push on this." Mercer also talked about the possibility of Volta using its stations as an advertising platform as part of a larger business ecosystem.
